European Computer Driving Licence
The European and International Computer Driving Licence is the internationally recognized qualification which enables people to demonstrate their competence in computer skills. The record breaking ECDL is the fastest growing IT user qualification in over 125 countries. In the UK, ECDL is managed by the British Computer Society.
It is designed specifically for those who wish to gain a benchmark qualification in computing to enable them to develop their IT skills and enhance their career prospects. No prior knowledge of IT or computer skills is needed to study ECDL. Today over 5 million people across the world are studying towards the ECDL and it is now recognised by organisations such as Sainsbury’s, IBM, Pfizer and the NHS as the benchmark for IT users.
ECDL with Unit E is a certificated qualification at NVQ Level 2 .
e-Citizen
If ECDL is not quite for you, then you may find that e-Citizen is just the ticket. e-Citizen is a fun and simple way for people to learn how to use the internet and email. It features simulated websites so that people can familiarize themselves with how a website operates, while also learning how to use the internet effectively.
It starts with how to switch on a computer and use a mouse and then moves onto to write and send emails, how to open files, how to shop online and how to find information online to name just a few elements. The course is all done at an easy-pace, so people can learn as quickly or slowly as they wish.
e-Citizen is a certificated qualification at Entry Level 3.
e-Type
You’ll be amazed at how much you can increase efficiency and reduce costs by being able to touch-type. By learning to type using all fingers, a typical computer user spending an average of 20 hours per week at a PC could save around half this time. e-type is the ideal way for individuals to learn these touch-typing skills. e-type will provide the skills to be able to type both quickly and accurately. It is a fully packaged solution comprising computer-based training materials, online testing and certification.
Not everyone has a requirement to be able to type at the same speed. e-type results are therefore graded based on typing speed to allow recognition for differing achievements. Typing speed will be rewarded at 20, 40 and 60 words per minute with either a Bronze, Silver or Gold result.
e-type is a certificated qualification at NVQ Level 2.
