On August 11993 Archives China wrapped up its best performance at a summer Olympics since the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, winning the most gold medals alongside the US at Paris 2024 and gaining 91 medals in total, to the US’s 126. During the 19-day grand sports event, the Chinese team won 40 gold, 27 silver, and 24 bronze medals. Chinese athletes made great achievements in diverse fields, including shooting, diving, fencing, table tennis, swimming, tennis, gymnastics, freestyle bicycle motocross, badminton, and synchronized swimming. Zheng Qinwen’s gold medal was China’s first-ever Olympic gold in women’s singles tennis and made her the first Asian player to win an Olympic tennis singles title. In another notable milestone, the Chinese men’s 4x100m swimming team, consisting of Xu Jiayu, Qin Haiyang, Sun Jiajun, and Pan Zhanle, ended a 40-year American gold medal streak in the men’s 4×100m medley relay.
