If there's one thing Star Wars has never been short on Rajni Bhabhi 2.0 (2023) Hindi Short Film-- besides magic and wonder! -- it's the creatures that make the fictional universe come to life, a mix of the hideous and adorable that make it all feel so ... real.

It's with great fanfare, then, that the Star Wars crew has now introduced us to the "porgs," adorable creatures that occupy the island of Ahch-To where Rey finds Luke Skywalker as The Force Awakensfades to black.

So, basically, the new trilogy's version of the Ewoks?

We got our first look at the porgs in the terrific "behind-the-scenes" video that was dropped by Disney at their annual D23 expo, just one of many new creatures that populated the sneak peek.

They're cute, look like puffins, and seem to have some adorable, almost cartoonish movements.

In an interview posted on the Star Wars' website, Lucasfilm Story Group maestro Pablo Hidalgo gave a few more details about the creatures.

Pablo Hidalgo:Porgs are native to Ahch-To, and can be found dwelling along the cliffs of the island where Luke and Rey are. In many ways, they’re the Star Wars version of puffins. They build nests. They can fly. Their babies are called porglets.

Porglets!

According to Hidalgo, they appear in the film both as puppets and computer-generated images and "given how rarely their island has visitors, their curiosity outweighs any skittishness they may have."

So whether or not they help topple the First Order, much as the Ewoks aided in toppling the Empire, is unknown so far but I can't help thinking that some dark and evil lurks below those big cute eyes.

Prove me wrong, porgs. Prove me wrong.
